The Boston Red Sox honored the 20 year anniversary of the 2004 championship team and the Wakefields during an emotional Opening Day at Fenway Park.

The teenage children of Tim and Stacy Wakefield participated in the ceremony, months after their parents both died of cancer.

Nearly all of the 2004 team members attended the ceremony, and all pledged to support the Wakefield children in any way possible.

After the ceremony, the Red Sox lost the home opener to Baltimore by a score of seven to one.
