Members of Springfield's Jewish community gathered to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day on Sunday.
Events were held in Hampshire County at the Jewish Community of Amherst and at the Sinai Temple in Springfield.
The Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts says commemorating Yom HaShoah gave the community a chance to reflect on the Holocaust and the impact it continues to have, especially amid a rise of antisemitism in the United States.
A new campaign called hashtag-CancelHate is featuring Holocaust survivors recounting their stories as part of an international effort to tackle not only denialism but a growing rise in hate speech. The effort lines up with this year's Holocaust Remembrance Day.
